Η ΜΕΓΑΛΥΤΕΡΗ τεχνολογικής υφής επανάσταση, μετά τον πόλεμο, είναι οι Ηλεκτρονικοί Υπολογιστές (computer) και φυσικά το Διαδίκτυο (Internet)
ΔΕΝ υπάρχει επιστημονικός κλάδος που να μη χρησιμοποιεί το ένα ή το άλλο μέσο, ή και τα δυο ταυτόχρονα.
ΕΙΝΑΙ και τα δυο θαυμάσια και χρησιμότατα μέσα, αρκεί η χρήση τους –όπως συμβαίνει με κάθε εφεύρεση-να είναι λελογισμένη.
ΚΑΙ επειδή η Πληροφορική είναι η επιστήμη του παρόντος και του μέλλοντος, η παγκόσμια κοινότητα αποφάσισε να την τιμά κάθε χρόνο την τελευταία Παρασκευή του μήνα Ιούλη. και να πως:

Η Διεθνής Ημέρα του Διαχειριστή Συστημάτων γιορτάζεται από το 2000, με πρωτοβουλία του ελληνοαμερικανού διαχειριστή συστημάτων (System Administrator) Τεντ Κεκάτος, την τελευταία Παρασκευή κάθε Ιουλίου. Χρόνο με το χρόνο η γιορτή διεθνοποιείται όλο και περισσότερο.
Ο συμπατριώτης μας από το Σικάγο θέλησε με αυτό τον τρόπο να φέρει στην επιφάνεια και να τιμήσει τους διαχειριστές συστημάτων, αλλά και τους συναφείς επαγγελματίες της πληροφορικής, οι οποίοι νύχτα-μέρα, με ήλιο και βροχή, φροντίζουν να κρατούν σε λειτουργία τα ζωτικής σημασίας για τον σύγχρονο κόσμο πληροφορικά συστήματα και να επιλύουν και το απλούστερο πρόβλημα, που φαντάζει «βουνό» για τον μέσο χρήστη.
Η εθιμοτυπία της ημέρας απαιτεί ο χρήστης να προσφέρει ένα δωράκι στον διαχειριστή του υπολογιστικού του συστήματος σε ένδειξη ευγνωμοσύνης: Από σοκολάτες και κρασιά ως ηλεκτρονικά γκάτζετ και βιντεοπαιγνίδια.
